Shocked by the ongoing wave of escalating violence in Israel against Jewish Israelis, the Greek Jewry joins the voice of the world Jewry in urging the Palestinian Authority to launch initiatives to combat incitement to terrorist actions.

The deadly attacks against Jews in Israel motivated by fanaticism and hatred have sadly become a daily routine. The nature of the assaults becomes more and more brutal. This time the victims were two whorshipers stabbed while praying in a synagogue in Tel Aviv, while in the West Bank three Israelis, including an 18 year old student, were killed when a Palestinian motorcyclist –driving at the emergency lane- opened fire on a line of cars in traffic.

The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece and the Greek Jewry stand in solidarity with the struggling Israeli society and express their condolences to the families of the victims.

The civilized world at large must clearly and forcefully demonstrate that we do not allow and do not tolerate blind violence and terror.
