Social services for Nazi victims have been supported by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
Funds have been provided by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany for the Emergency Assistance Program for Nazi Victims at the direction of the United States District Court supervising the lawsuit In RE: Holocaust Victim Assets Litigation (Swiss Banks).

THE GREEK JEWRY MOURNS THE LOSS OF MOSES CONSTANTINIS Print E-mail

On September 20th, 2018, the former President of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece Moses Constantinis passed away.

His funeral will be held on Sunday September 23rd, 2018 at 15.00 hrs at the Jewish Cemetery of Athens (Jewish section of the 3rd Cemetery of Nikaia).

The late Moses Constantinis served as President of the Governing Board of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece (KIS), the coordinating body of the Greek Jewry, for 13 years (1998-2010 & 2015-2016) following his term as Secretary General of KIS from 1991 until 1997. He was a founding member and –from 1977 until his death- Secretary General and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Museum of Greece. From 1971 until his death he served as Special Advisor to the Hellenic Post for philately.

His award winning writings, his contribution to the Greek Jewry, to the preservation of historical memory, to issues of education and culture were invaluable not only for the Jewish Community but also for the entire society. For his contribution he has been decorated with Greek and international awards.

The Greek Jewry mourns the loss of Moses Constantinis, an inspired and tireless leader, a worthy Jew and a moral person. 

May he rest in peace and his memory be blessed.
