![]() The “miracle” of Israel, which we often refer to on Yom Haatzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, has semantically evolved from biblical to modern, based on the interaction amongst solidarity, faith and strong beliefs, great leaders, resilience and hard work, wise choices and prudent strategy planning, as well as persistent focus on the target for the common good. These are the characteristics that Israel, in its 72-year life, embodied and managed to achieve great things… so that the world speaks of the people that cultivated the desert, the country with the most scientists, the country of innovation and renewal, technology and progress, Letters and Arts. In the same spirit and with the same strength Israel faces the new crisis of the pandemic: it joins forces, innovates, it is a leader in protection measures, social care, as well as scientific research for the cure of the disease. The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece expresses the warmest wishes of the Greek Jewry for the 72nd anniversary of Israel, with the firm belief that the miracle will keep on happening as long as there is the remarkable human resources that motivate and fulfill it.
